Dad’s night out

I’m lucky to have kids in years in school with great parents.

The Year 3 dads get together nearly quarterly for a drink, breakfast or dinner.   Last night, we gathered for a winter roast and a red for some male bonding.

It was good to catch up, knock down a few beers and bottles of wine, with no wives or kids.   We shared fatherly parenting stories, talked about high schools, local real estate, dates with wives and reminisced of old nightclubs and pubs – Hannibals, Hippodrome, Exit, and ones before even my time!  

I just love what a diverse group it is, with people from all ranges of profession and background – yet we still share similar experiences with parenting and marriage.   Always a nice change from conversations with the same group of people at work day in and out!
